Says independent probe must be carried out so that justice prevails

Srinagar, Nov 18 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference senior leader, Khurshid Alam on Thursday said that as guardian of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come forward and listen to the cries and woes of the people of Kashmir.

Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Alam, as per Kashmir News Service (KNS), said that PM Modi is the guardian of 130 crore Indians, so he should listen and fulfill the demands of the people of Kashmir.

He also said that it is unfortunate that the families of the civilians who are demanding bodies of their loved ones were dragged and arrested by the police.

"We have full faith in PM and HM of India that they will fulfill the demands of these families and will return the bodies of slain civilians for a dignified burial,” he added.

Alam said that as guardian of the country, Modi should come forward and listen to the cries and woes of the people of Kashmir.

Khurshid said that an immediate judicial probe should be carried out to enquire into the hyderpora encounter and bodies of the three civilians be handed over to  their families.

“It is an extreme act of oppression that civilians have been denied even the right to a dignified burial. Only an independent probe will clear the truth behind these killings. We stand by the families of these civilians and urge the authorities to give them justice,” he added. (KNS)
