Karakat, Bihar, May 30 (KNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone and dedicated multiple development projects worth over ?48,520 crore in Bihar, marking a major step in the state’s infrastructure and economic growth. Addressing a large public gathering, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the people's support and acknowledged Bihar’s rich legacy of valor and resilience.
Modi highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor, reaffirming India’s unwavering commitment to combat terrorism. Referring to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, he stated that India had fulfilled its promise by targeting the masterminds behind the violence. “Those who targeted our daughters’ sindoor were crushed by India’s armed forces. This is New India—resilient, decisive, and powerful,” he asserted.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to BSF Sub-Inspector Imtiaz, who was martyred at the border, and praised Bihar’s contribution to the Armed Forces. He declared that India’s fight against terrorism, whether cross-border or domestic, will continue with full force.
Speaking on Bihar’s transformation, Modi underlined the decline of Maoist insurgency and the end of 'Jungle Raj'. “Once 125 districts were affected by Naxalism; today, only 18 remain,” he said, crediting the combined efforts of the state and central governments in restoring peace, enabling development, and improving lives.
The Prime Minister highlighted key infrastructure projects, including the ?29,930 crore Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Plant, major road expansions like the four-laning of Patna–Gaya–Dobhi NH-22, and new bridges over rivers such as the Ganga and Son.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also inaugurated the new terminal building at Patna Airport and emphasized investments in the Bihta Airport and solar energy projects under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
On the agricultural front, Modi mentioned support for Bihar’s farmers, including MSP hikes for 14 crops, the establishment of the Makhana Board, and the GI-tag for Bihar’s Makhana. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring access to welfare schemes for all, highlighting the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan, which delivers 22 essential services directly to beneficiaries.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Modi criticized their history of neglect and false promises, asserting that the current government stands firmly with the poor and marginalized. “For decades, Dalits, backward classes, and tribal communities were deprived of basic rights. Our government is correcting that injustice,” he said.
Modi concluded by affirming his vision of a Viksit Bihar as integral to a Viksit Bharat, paying homage to leaders like Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Karpoori Thakur, Babu Jagjivan Ram, and Jayaprakash Narayan.
Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manji, Giriraj Singh, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Chirag Paswan, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey, and Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary were among the dignitaries present.(KNS)
