Kanpur, May 30 (KNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth over ?47,600 crore in Kanpur today. Addressing a massive public gathering, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Shubham Dwivedi, a son of Kanpur and martyr of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He recalled that his earlier visit to Kanpur, scheduled for April 24, was postponed due to the attacks.
The Prime Minister emphasized the success of Operation Sindoor, where India’s armed forces targeted terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. He underscored that India’s fight against terrorism will continue, warning that the enemy should not be under any illusion that the operation is over. He reiterated India’s policy: decisive response to terrorism, no fear of nuclear threats, and no distinction between Pakistan’s state and non-state actors.
Modi lauded India’s defense capabilities, highlighting the role of homegrown weapons like the BrahMos missile in Operation Sindoor. He praised Uttar Pradesh’s contribution to Atmanirbhar Bharat, noting Kanpur’s historic ordnance factories and the state’s growing role in defense production, including the Defense Corridor.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects in Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh. These included power plants like the 660 MW Panki Power Plant, road widening works, metro projects, and a 40 MLD tertiary water treatment plant. He announced an elevated rail corridor in Kanpur to ease traffic and boost connectivity.
Modi highlighted the development of the Kanpur Metro’s Orange Line, connecting key areas like Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha, and IIT Kanpur. He stressed that modern infrastructure is transforming Kanpur, turning it into a hub for industries and improving the lives of its residents.
The Prime Minister also spoke about reforms in the MSME sector, credit support, and initiatives like One District, One Product for Kanpur’s leather and hosiery industries. He emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency, middle-class aspirations, and inclusive development.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present at the event.(KNS)
