Srinagar, Mar 11 (KNS):A plantation drive was organized by Special Forest Division Tangmarg in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Committee Tangmarg in the premises of Court Complex Tangmarg in which Judicial Magistrate Tangmarg, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Tangmarg, SHO Tangmarg, Range Officer Tangmarg, Block Forest Officer Tangmarg, and Officials of Sericulture department participated.
During the drive Deodar, Kail and Mulberry saplings were planted in the Campus of Court Complex Tangmarg.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe DFO Tangmarg Showkat Ahmad Kutoo apprised that already we have planted around 60,000 plants in the degraded forests during the current financial year 2019-2020 and more than 40,000 plants will be planted under ''GREEN J&K DRIVE'' initiated by the J&K Forest Department.
Moreover, he added that afforestation is need of the hour to mitigate the effects of the climate change and for the holistic conservation of biodiversity of the Union Territory of J&K. (KNS)
