Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNS): A plantation drive was held at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hazratbal here on Friday.
The drive was organized by Soil and Water Conservation Department in collaboration with Planning and development wing of the NIT. On the occasion, around 500 Deodar plants were planted in the campus.
The function was attended by District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director NIT, Dr Rajat Gupta and Joint Director Soil and Water Conservation Kashmir, N A Shahdad besides the faculty members of NIT, students, officers of Soil and Water Conservation department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The District Officer Soil and Water Conservation Department Firdous Ahmad Mir said this year, the Department has planted 2.90 lakh plants in various district of the valley. (KNS)
