PIB Srinagar/Jammu Flags Off Mumbai Media Tour to Showcase India’s Development Model

Mumbai, Oct 5 (KNS): In a significant step to strengthen media–government collaboration, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Srinagar/Jammu today flagged off a prestigious week-long media exposure tour to Mumbai. Senior journalists from Jammu and Kashmir are part of the delegation, set to explore India’s development journey and flagship welfare schemes.

Before departure, Director PIB Srinagar Qazi Salman briefed the participating journalists, highlighting that the tour aims to enhance their understanding of India’s developmental vision and on-ground implementation of key policies.

The team, led by Ms. Neha Jalali, IIS, Director PIB Jammu, joined their counterparts at Jammu Airport before flying to Mumbai. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by PIB Mumbai officials, including Yash Rane, who extended greetings on behalf of the regional bureau.

“Seeing is believing, and reporting is redefining,” said a PIB official, adding that the initiative will help journalists report India’s progress with greater insight and authenticity.

Similar media tours held in other states have been widely appreciated for promoting transparency and fostering stronger ties between the media and policymakers.

Observers believe this Mumbai tour will serve as a knowledge bridge, sharpening the professional perspective of journalists from Jammu & Kashmir and enabling them to highlight the country’s development story with greater depth and credibility.

As J&K’s media representatives engage with India’s growth narrative on the ground, the tour marks a new chapter in informed journalism and constructive dialogue between the press and public institutions.(KNS)
