Anantnag, Aug 13 (KNS): Officials of PHE department in Anantnag and adjacent areas seized hundreds of water pipes from consumers who were using drinking water illegally for construction and washing purposes in different areas of Anantnag, today.
On the directions of DDC Anantnag Dr. Sayed Abid Rashid PHE department headed by AEE Anantnag, Mukhtar Ahmed Bhat conducted raids in different areas of Mattan, Krangsoo, town Anantnag, a Shadipora, Mominabad, Khanabal and seized hundreds of pipes used for illegal usage of water.
The team headed by JE town, Maqbool AHAMED that conducted raids in Mattan said people are cooperating with the officials and acknowledges the judicious use of water. He said officials in field have been put under instructions by AEE Anantnag, Mukhtar Ahmed Bhat to conduct raids as people have been making Complaints regarding non availability of water.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
This correspondent contacted Exon PHE Bijebhera, Bashir Ahmed Shah regarding conducting of raids by PHE officials who in reply said PHE officials work in cohesiveness and we hope we will get results as there are many consumers who make illegal use of water. He said Superintending Engineer, Mir Shahnawaz Hussain is seeking reports from the field agencies regarding today's raids and he has put all officers including AEEs, JEs field staff under instructions to conduct raids and initiate action against consumers making illegal use of drinking water.
Chief engineer PHE applauded the whole team of officers who have geared to take action against consumers making illegal use of water. (KNS)
