PHDCCI Kashmir delegation meets CS, apprise him of several issues

Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNS) A delegation of PHDCCI Kashmir headed by its chairman Baldev Singh Raina, mentor Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya and Co-Chair Mr Showket Choudhary had a detailed meeting with the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Kumar Mehta. 

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that the delegation was also joined by Vicky Shaw, Bilal Kawoosa, Shahan Fatima and Tariq Ghani. 

The statement reads that the delegation discussed the issues of extension for amnesty in VAT under Old Tax regime, consideration of Industrial power tariff for hospitality, amnesty in power arrears,lease issues of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Srinagar, GST reimbursement for hotels, long period one time tourism renewal registration process, Common STPs for Hotel clusters, permission for renovation for hotels and houseboats.

”It was requested that there is need for one time bailout package for economy of J&K, and declaring Kashmir as special economic zone, the delegation discussed the issues of Education sector also and it was impressed upon that there is need for overall economic and infrastructure development in education and implementation of National education Policy and various financial and banking issues of economy including OTS and NPA was discussed in threadbare,” it reads.

It reads the chamber also highlighted that the Real Estate Sector can contribute more towards the development of UT of Jammu & Kashmir. 

“But it need support from Government for making this industry grow so that it gives more job opportunities to the local people of the UT and also growth to the people involved with this sector. For real estate sector the chamber put forward suggestions for density of units per hectare, change of land use and change of Land use policy and review in Masterplan in tune with the modern and world class requirements for development of J&K.”

It reads that while welcoming the delegation, the chief secretary promised that final logical solutions will be provided to the issues raised by the delegation.

The Chief Secretary informed the delegation that J&K has gone under extreme reforms in all economic sectors and also the industries is turning into hotspot for investments. 

He assured the delegation that all issues raised will be addressed and he gave a patient hearing to all the suggestions submitted by PHDCCI delegation. (KNS)
