People’s respect is non-negotiable: Bilal Lone vows people-first politics in Kupwara

Kupwara ,07 Sep (KNS) : Senior political leader Bilal Ghani Lone on Sunday said his political struggle is not about personal rivalries but about standing up for the dignity, justice, and honour of the people of Kashmir.

Speaking as per Statement issued, at a public interaction in Thandipora, Trehgram constituency, Lone made it clear that his politics is directed against a mindset that has for years belittled and exploited people. “I came into mainstream politics with one mission: to break this cycle of despair and empower my people through democratic means. That is my commitment, and with your support, I will accomplish it,” he said.

Without naming anyone, Lone hit out at leaders who, he said, treat people as if they are subjects. “Those who humiliate and threaten people should know that time is over.

Kashmiris are not anyone’s subjects; they are free citizens who deserve respect,” he said.

Lone recalled his father’s legacy, saying, “My father taught me that the dignity of the people comes first. I will never compromise on that. For us, Lone Saheb is not just a leader – he is our mission, our guiding light.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He also stressed the need for clarity and honesty in politics. “Ambiguity and double-speak have already cost Kashmir too much blood and destruction.

The truth must be spoken, because only truth can lead us to peace and prosperity,” Lone said.

On Kashmir’s future, he asserted that the region cannot remain trapped in the past. “We must look ahead and find solutions to our political, social, and economic challenges. Engaging with the Union to secure these solutions with dignity is not surrender, it is responsibility and self-respect.”

Calling upon the youth, Lone said: “Your future cannot be decided by corrupt politicians and opportunists. It is your energy, courage, and vision that must shape tomorrow. Don’t stay aloof—step forward, assert yourself, and use democracy to bring real change.”

Pledging to keep people at the heart of his politics, he added, “I will always stand with every Kashmiri. But real change will only come when we all realise this truth: we are the masters of our own destiny.”(KNS)
