Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNS): Scores of people on Tuesday protested in Chamalwas area of Banihal against the Government for not compensating them for the property taken for four lane highway.

Reports said that locals alleged that adminstration wants to take away their property without addressing their concerns.
" We have suffered huge losses as our houses came under the project. Authorities are paying deaf ear to our greviances despite approaching them multiple times," locals said according to KNS correspondent.
When KNS contacted Deputy Commissioner Ramban Nazim Khan, he said, " SDM can better about it. As far as I know some people try to rack up issues unnecessarily for their personal benefits and has become a way for putting pressure to grab contracts. The compensation has already been paid to them. We are accessing the loss of their trees coming under the project. Once it is done, they will be paid accordingly. " (KNS)
