Says good governance claims of incumbent J&K administration amidst increase in cost of living, rise of unemployment, development deficit have fallen flat

Srinagar March 06:(KNS)   The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial Vice President and In Charge Constituency Ahsan Pardesi said that Jammu and Kashmir is passing through the most difficult phase and people across the board are seeing a ray of hope for future in the underway efforts of NC for salvaging the region from the quagmire it finds itself in.

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), He said this while addressing a meeting of the Party's local unit functionaries at Zeewan in the  Sonwar constituency earlier today. Among others the meeting was attended by Block President Sonwar Abdul Majeed Bhat and YNC Vice President Central Zone Faiz Bhat and numerous other party local unit functionaries.

Addressing the local unit associates, workers and office bearers, Pardesi said that the people are looking towards the National Conference with hope and therefore it is incumbent upon the cadre to meet their aspirations and expectations. “People across J&K irrespective of their regional and religious affiliations, have placed their faith in NC leadership. Only NC can bail the people out from the people from the fallout of the detrimental policies pursued by the incumbent administration. People, especially our youth, are fed up with the festering despondency," he said.

He exhorted the workers to multiply their ongoing efforts to strengthen the National Conference at grassroots level.

The good governance claims of the incumbent J&K administration amidst increase in the cost of living, rise of unemployment and development deficit in J&K have fallen flat.

The development deficit festering in Jammu and Kashmir ever since BJP came to power continues to affect each and every section of the economy, the administration. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are being deprived of basic rights. The unrelated bureaucracy has hampered the advancement of development motioned by the successive NC led governments from time to time. There is no escape from accepting the truth that deliberately, under a thoughtful strategy, the development of Jammu and Kashmir, the aspirations and dreams of people, are being suppressed and left unattended to by the incumbent ruling dispensation at New Delhi and Srinagar," he said.

He demanded that the phasing out procedure of commercial vehicles should be increased from 20 to 25 years, as the concerned transporters are unable to buy new vehicles. "Most of these transporters are living by hand to mouth. A big chunk of what little they earn goes to pay back their lingering loans. The Successive lock downs and clamp downs have further compounded their woes. Therefore, in the spirit of being a welfare state, the incumbent administration should increase the phasing of time period of commercial vehicles in Srinagar from 20 to 25 years. Meantime, a comprehensive package should be worked out to reduce their existing loan burden,” he added. (KNS)
