Says tourists as well as dwellers should be treated equally

Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum on Saturday said that the people in Jammu and Kashmir are deprived even of basic amenities during winter, while government is making tall claims.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed anguish over the lack of basic amenities such as clearing of snow on roads, lack of sufficient medical staff and medicines in hospitals.

It reads that the shortage of food items in the markets and rising prices have added to the suffering of the common man.

It said that in view of the snowfall, all the concerned departments viz Mechanical Engineering, Department of PHE, Power, Consumer Affairs should be worming round the clock.

JKCSF also demanded that Jammu-Srinagar Highway should also be kept open and it is important to keep in mind that tourists as well as dwellers should be treated equally. (KNS)
