Kupwara, Jan 13 (KNS): Pedestrians in Kupwara are facing hard to walk on roads, as the shopkeepers and roadside vendors have encroached the footpaths. People appealed the authorities to intervene.
A local social activist from Kupwara Town, Shahid Peer, told KNS, that today a pedestrian was hit by car on bypass road Kupwara, because the people have to walk on main roads than foot paths; occupied by shopkeepers and vendors.
He said that, people have appealed the authorities various time to remove the encroachment but without an eye wash exercise, nothing changes much.
“In bypass road and Iqbal market Kupwara you can see shopkeepers have and vendors encroached the foot paths meant for general public to walk on,” Shahid Peer said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Another pedestrian Shujaat Ahmad told KNS, that the other reason of messy roads in Kupwara is illegal parking. He said people park their cars where ever they like to do.
“No action is taken against the wrong car parking,” Shujaat said.
Talking with Municipal Executive Officer Kupwara, Bashir Ahmad Dar said that, they are trying hard to make foot paths and roads smooth and remove the encroachment. (KNS)
