Peace won't be allowed to be destroyed: LG Sinha to terrorists

JAMMU, Mar 12 (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday issued a stern warning to anti-peace elements, asserting that those trying to disrupt the region's hard-earned tranquility will be hunted down and given no place to hide.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster at the MA Stadium here, the Lt Governor dedicated the prevailing peace to the sacrifices of security forces.

“The peace we enjoy today, the peace that lets families gather, athletes compete, and communities thrive, did not come without a price. It was secured through the sacrifices of the J&K Police, the Army, and the CAPFs,” Sinha said.

He emphasized the duty to remember the thousands of police personnel, soldiers, and CAPF bravehearts who gave their lives protecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our duty is not just to remember them, but to ensure their sacrifice endures, preserving the peace they won,” he added.

In a pointed message to those seeking to disrupt the established order, the Lt Governor declared, “I also have a warning for those who seek to destroy this peace: you will find no place to hide. We will hunt you down from the deepest depths.”

Speaking on the significance of the sporting event, which saw participation from various State Police Forces and CAPFs in disciplines like Kabaddi, Gymnastics, Fencing, and Kho-Kho, Sinha highlighted the unifying power of sports.

“Sports have always bridged divides through their unmatched reliability. Language, geography, social status, rank, and authority fade away on the field. There, only courage and resolve matter,” he observed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Lt Governor noted that such competitions provide a vital education for the youth, shaping their character with lessons of shared purpose and teamwork. “Sports teach the power of shared purpose: a dedicated team achieves what no individual can. These lessons extend beyond the field, forming the foundation of life's greatest triumphs,” he said.

Praising the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its community outreach, Sinha remarked that through its Civic Action Programme, the force has successfully positioned itself as a guide and mentor. “The people here have always seen the Jammu & Kashmir Police as a guide, a mentor — an integral part of the community. These competitions are an expression of exactly that spirit,” he stated.

Addressing the younger generation, the Lt Governor called upon them to fully leverage the potential of the Union Territory. “You have inherited a Union Territory brimming with extraordinary potential. I want you to seize it fully. Dream big, with the health, freedom, and opportunities to make those dreams real,” he urged, while also cautioning them to stay vigilant against the menace of narcotics.

In a separate felicitation during the event, the Lt Governor congratulated the J&K cricket team for clinching their maiden Ranji Trophy title, terming it a landmark triumph. An e-Souvenir of the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster was also released on the occasion.

The event was attended by Director General of Police J&K Nalin Prabhat, senior officials of the J&K Police and civil administration, and eminent sports personalities. (KNS)
