Peace will prevail in J&K soon: GOC Dagger Div


Baramulla, Nov 07 (KNS): General Officer Commanding (GOC) 19 Infantry Division Virendra Vats on Saturday said that sacrifice rendered by Late Maqbool Sherwani in 1947 won’t go in vain and asserted that Jammu and Kashmir will witness absolute peace soon.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the GOC was speaking in the felicitation ceremony for relatives in the memory of Late Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani. The army officer paid rich tributes to Late Sherwani, saying today we assembled here to pay respect to his sacrifices he rendered in 1947 against Qabailis.
“This was the day in 1947 when Late Sherwani laid down his life against the occupants who had come across the borders. He valiantly fought against Qabaili’s and offered his life in the line”, GOC said.
Paying tribute to Late Sherwani, the GOC said that Late Sherwani’s laid down his life to make Kashmir a peaceful region and asserted “We hope his sacrifice won’t go in vain”.
The top Army officer said that with joint positive efforts, J&K will become soon a peaceful region.
“The district Baramulla is the only district in Kashmir were things are normal and people are much peace loving”, GOC said.(KNS)
