PDP youth wing stresses to work on strengthening grassroots democracy

Pahalgam, Dec 11 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party Youth Wing on Sunday held a discussion in which the prevailing hopelessness among young people and the solutions related to it were deliberately discussed on.

According to a statement issued here it was agreed that this will require coordinative patience for over a time and it was pointed out that prolonged conflict has effected the youth, generated negative dispositions and cynical modes of thinking, depression and has left no space for expression. 

“With time and concrete efforts, it will heal the injuries and trauma that has been generated through prolonged conflicts. Youth leaders expressed their concern that the delay in addressing these issues will corrode the functions of the rich culture of the Valley,” reads the statement. 

It reads it was also deliberated that only physical development activity in the Valley will not be successful as long as these traumas are not addressed.

It added the speakers proposed various activities that will heal the mentally disturbing youngsters with equal access to everyone.

“The foundation of healing activities is that it will be kept non-controversial and equally accessible and reachable to everyone, especially women, children and elderly.”

It further reads various fields were identified including public health, mental health  and hygiene, nutrition, care and upkeep of ecological niches. 

“The work undertaken in these fields will communicate the idea vis a vis interdependence of all living beings with non living elements.”

The statement reads that the mode of undertaking these activities will begin within a month.

“Members resolved to strengthen the party leadership and evolve programs and awareness on sustainable growth and development in the area.”

It reads the discussion was attended by party Youth President Waheed Para, PDP leader Irfan Kullar, South Kashmir youth coordinator Najmu Sakib and party leader Khalid I/C Uri. (KNS)
