Srinagar, Nov 27 (KNS): In a bid to reach out to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, PDP youth wing held a day long workers convention and discussed the strategy for empowerment of youth in the state. People Democratic Party (PDP), State Youth President Waheed Ur Rehman Parra on Sunday said that PDP is not only determined for the economic and political empowerment of the state, but is also determined to put in place the comprehensive plan of action for the welfare of all the segments of the society in general and youth in particular.
Addressing a daylong workers convention Waheed Ur Rehman Para said that the main agenda of his party is to empower the youth and ensure their ideas are taken seriously.
“It was dream of Late Mufti Mohd. Sayeed to see the young ones touching the heights and his concern for the young generation was immense. He was of the firm belief that it is essential to recognize potential of the youth for the economic, political and social development of the state in youth policy that was conveyed by the party, “said Parra.

Emphasizing the need for involving the youth in building a modern and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir, Para said “The state can come out of its problems of uncertainty and development, only if the younger population is engaged creatively and their talent and energy given a positive direction”.
Encouraged and enthused by the youth related policies, the hundreds of workers assured Parra of their unconditional support and would make it more popular among the people with the different cross sections of the society. They assured Parra of having complete faith in the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti.
District President Pulwama Tariq Ahmad, District President Shopian Raja Wahid were present among others. Besides the youth leaders of the youth wing other core members of Pulwama district actively joined and discussed the prevailing situation of the valley. (KNS)
