Srinagar, Apr 24 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday urged the Election Commission of India to defer the elections, saying that the people of Kashmir are reluctant to cast their ballots at present.
One of the PDP leaders who attended the video conference by ECI to review the Anantnag Parliamentary bye-poll preparedness said that they told ECI to defer the elections as the people here are in no mood to exercise their franchise at present.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“We told ECI that the atmosphere is not conducive for the polls. The people here are reluctant to cast their ballots this time and keeping in view of such circumstances, the Anantnag by-polls must be deferred,” he said.
He told KNS that the opposition political parties including NC and Congress boycotted the video conference as they want that the elections should be conducted. (KNS)
