Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNS): The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has virtually thrown the ball of government formation in the court of the union government and is likely to keep its cards closer to chest till the union budget is tabled this year in parliament.
Sources divulged that the PDP is expecting a massive financial announcement for the Jammu and Kashmir state in the union budget.
The party is expecting a major announcement vis-a-vis various developmental works in the state and is hopeful that the financial assistance from the union government would be in the offing. Mehbooba, as per sources, wants GOI to take atleast some confidence building measures for the state so that the stalemate, which has entered into the second month, could end as early as possible.
During the deadlock period, the discussions revolved over the failure of the coalition to implement various decisions, which were imperative to catalyse the development process in the State.
PDP is also eyeing for the nod of the smart city projects for both Jammu and Srinagar. Earlier, these two cities were not included in the list. (KNS)
