PDP slams NC’s ‘arrogance’, says personal attacks weaken democracy

Srinagar, Apr 6 (KNS): The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday accused the ruling National Conference (NC) of “high-handedness” and “arrogance”, asserting that the mandate given by the people of Kashmir was not meant to witness such conduct.

PDP leader Zuhaib Yousuf Mir said the behaviour of NC ministers was “troubling and condemnable”, and that personal attacks have no place in the legislative assembly.

“The arrogance of the National Conference is deeply disappointing, and the conduct of its ministers is both troubling and condemnable,” Mir told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He said the people of Kashmir did not grant such a strong mandate to the NC to witness this kind of high-handedness.

“Personal attacks have no place in our Assembly. They weaken the very spirit of democratic discourse,” the PDP leader said.

Mir further stated that politics should inspire and engage the youth, not disillusion them or push them away. (KNS)
