PDP’s Zuhaib Mir Condemns BJP’s “Divisive Agenda”, Slams NC’s Silence Over Discriminatory Demands

Srinagar Nov 25 (KNS) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and addl spokesperson Zuhaib Yousuf Mir has strongly condemned the recent statements and actions of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, accusing them of stoking communal tensions and pushing discriminatory policies targeting Muslim students.

Mir referred to a delegation led by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, which met the Lieutenant Governor and reportedly demanded the cancellation of student admissions while seeking to reserve seats exclusively for devotees of a particular deity. He said such demands reflect a direct and deliberate attempt to marginalize the Muslim community.

Expressing deep disappointment over the National Conference’s (NC) silence, Mir said the party’s failure to respond amounts to a tacit endorsement of what he described as the BJP’s divisive and communal agenda.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe added that calls by affiliated groups to dismantle Muslim academic institutions and openly target Muslims in political discourse mark a dangerous escalation in intolerance.

Condemning the xenophobic narrative pushed by the BJP, Mir urged all secular and democratic forces to unite against growing communal polarization. He called upon authorities to uphold constitutional values and ensure equal opportunities for all communities.

Mir warned that the absence of a strong, collective stand against such divisive actions could seriously endanger the social fabric and threaten the aspirations of the youth and minorities of Jammu & Kashmir—and the country at large.(KNS)
