Srinagar, May 06 (KNS): While terming the statement of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti as baseless and contrary to the ground realities in which she had said that “accord with India was a right decision of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah”, Hurriyat (G) said that the decision had only benefitted the Sheikh and Mufti families so far while as this accord had brought misery and destruction to the Kashmiri people and this unnatural accord had not only consumed lakhs of innocent lives in this region but this is the only reason for the political uncertainty and instability prevailing in Jammu & Kashmir since last 7 decades.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (G) said that accession with India in 1947 was the work of an individual person initiated against the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people and this decision stands rejected by the majority of people even today in 2016.
Hurriyat (G) said that the people of Kashmir had neither given this mandate to late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah to accord with India and nor does have Mehbooba Mufti got this permission to validate this forced and illegal accord.
They said that besides Sheikh and Mufti families, the number of traitors in Kashmir can be counted on finger tips who for the chair and other meager benefits are advocating the military occupation of India in Kashmir and are heaping false praises over the democracy and pluralism of India which is nowhere visible on the ground.
“This could be their compulsion to praise their masters otherwise they could not survive without their support,” they said.
Hurriyat (G) said that the majority population in Jammu & Kashmir is demanding freedom from the Indian forced occupation and they have been held hostages on the gun point.
They further said that the statement of Mehbooba Mufti is also against the historical facts and evidences because Jammu & Kashmir has never been any legal part of India.
“It was first held by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and then in 1947 when India illegally occupied this land. Sheikh Abdullah had committed a historic blunder by validating the accession with India for which he hadn’t got the mandate of the people and which was a personal decision of the ousted dogra rulers,” they said.
Hurriyat (G) said that if the people of Kashmir had accepted the decision of Sheikh Abdullah then why would they sacrifice their precious lives since the last 7 decades and why would they often come out on roads to challenge the accession with India. “The wrong decision of Sheikh Abdullah converted the Jammu & Kashmir into a hell and this decision not only brought miseries and destruction to the Kashmiri people but it had blocked the ways of development and prosperity for the entire Sub-Continent people,” they said.
Hurriyat (G) said that Mehbooba Mufti should not be in any kind of misunderstanding about herself, she is sitting on the Chief Ministers chair due to the presence of Indian army and the police.
Hurriyat (G) challenges her to visit anywhere without the protection of army and police, she will be accepted as the pubic representative.
They further said that by praising the democracy and the religious tolerance in India, the Mehbooba Mufti had made her position more ridicules. "Whole world is witness to the reality of democracy in India and the Kashmiri people taste it from a very long time. India had made promises with the people of Jammu & Kashmir on national and international forums that they will be given a fair and free chance to decide their future but this country later on not only backtracked from its promises but it is employing all its resources and state machinery to suppress the genuine and peaceful voices of the Kashmiri people,” they said.
Hurriyat (G) said that in Jammu and Kashmir the so-called democracy and secularism of India gets badly exposed. (KNS)
