Banihal, Apr 03 (KNS): Stating that the government has pushed the state back to 90’s, the National Conference leader and district President Ramban on Tuesday said that with killing, maiming, blinding, arresting people of Kashmir, it seems that the present regime is at war with the people of Kashmir.
While addressing day long monthly meeting of party functionaries of block Ukharhal NC district president, Ramban Sajjad Shaheen said the state government has pushed the valley inhabitants back to the situation of 90’s.
The present dispensation has surpassed all the records of slapping PSA on its people,” he said.
Shaheen said that the more than 21 people were killed on Sunday and most of them were locals at different places and hundreds of people were maimed while several other were arrested, which seems that the present coalition government is at war with the people of Kashmir.
“The government has surpassed all the records of human rights violation by killing, maiming, blinding, arresting people and using pellet guns in Kashmir,” he said, adding that “Chief Minister has no control. Lashing out at People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Shaheen said, “The party has won the elections by assuring people that give us votes and we will keep BJP (their coalition partner) at bay but the party betrayed the trust of people which resulted into further alienation and sense of hopelessness among the youth and has forced the youth to tread the path of violence.
Several political activists from various parties joined NC and resolved to strengthen the party at grassroots level. Those who joined include Mohd Yousaf Katoch, Abdul Gani, Abdul Sadiq, Anial Singh, Javed Ahmed Runyal, Sohan Singh, Mohd Haneef, Kirpal Singh, Sheeraz Katoch, Tanvir Runyal, Abdul Gafar Katoch, Abdul Salam Bali, Nazim Ahmed Chandel and others.
Sr district vice president Mirwaiz Atta Mohd Katoch, block Presidents Ukharhal and Ramsoo Riyaz Ahmed Mir and Nisar Ahmed Sohil respectively, vice president Bahar Ahmed Naik, Youth block president Jagjit Singh, Shakib ur Rehman Runyal, district joint Secretaries Gulam Qadir Wani, Chodhry Gulam Hussain and Mohd Ashraf Koka, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Manan Katoch, and Sheraz Drabu also spoke on the occasion.
