Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party senior leader Showkat Gayoor has demanded an impartial probe into the killing of two students by security forces in Lelhar village in Kakpora in Pulwama district.
Gayoor, who is the executive council member of Islamic University of Science and Technology, said that the government should order a judicial probe to expose the guilty security men who are involved into the killing of the two students, Danish Farooq, 19, and Shaista Hameed, 22.
“Such acts of violence on civilians are not justified in a democratic and any civilized society and that too by security personnel who are supposed for the safety of people,” Gayoor said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The government should immediately provide compensation to the families of the killed students and also the injured persons,” he said.
Danish Farooq Mir, 19, an engineering student form Ratnipora, and Shaista Hameed, 22, an MA student of Lelhar village were killed by security forces firing in Lelhar on Sunday afternoon after a brief encounter in which a local LeT militant, Adil Ahmad, of Banderpora village of Pulwama was killed.
