Srinagar, Jul 4 (KNS): PDP leader Zuhaib Yousuf Mir on Saturday appealed to Amarnath pilgrims not to circulate what he described as "false and exaggerated" videos about the arrangements for the pilgrimage, while praising the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the civil administration for managing the Yatra.
In a statement, Mir said it was "deeply disappointing" to see some pilgrims making and sharing videos claiming they were being beaten by police or that there was little cooperation from the authorities.
"While every genuine grievance deserves to be heard and addressed, these narratives appear false and exaggerated and, in certain cases, seem more like propaganda than an accurate reflection of the overall situation," he said.
Mir said he had personally witnessed the arrangements at Panthachowk and several other locations and commended the police and civil administration for their efforts despite limited resources.

"Managing such an enormous influx of pilgrims is an immense challenge, yet they have handled it with dedication, professionalism and patience," he said.
The PDP leader also suggested regulating the number of pilgrims, saying a large influx places pressure on available resources and the environment.
"We wholeheartedly welcome the Yatris and pray for a safe and successful pilgrimage. Let us ensure that the spirit of this sacred journey is not undermined by misinformation," Mir said.(KNS).
