Srinagar, Feb 16 (KNS) Hailing the administration's decision to throw open several tourist destinations, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday termed it a "bold step" that will reignite the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha earlier in the day announced the reopening of 14 tourist spots across the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, including Yousmarg, Doodhpathri (Budgam), Tulip Garden (Srinagar), and Thajwas Glacier (Ganderbal).
PDP spokesperson Zuhaib Yousuf Mir as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) welcomed the move, stating that the decision would attract global visitors, generate employment, and fuel economic growth.

In a post on X, Mir credited the LG's office for providing much-needed relief to the people and building confidence.
Taking a dig at the former alliance partner, the PDP leader alleged that the National Conference (NC) had neglected the sector over the last year. "Their failure to seriously push for reopening these spots was visible while the tourism industry suffered," Mir said. (KNS)
