Srinagar, Nov 22 (KNS): Ruling PDP on Tuesday hailed the decision taken by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to provide free education to all girls with waiving off their school fees in the state-run educational institutions upto higher-secondary level.
PDP’s Srinagar District President and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam while terming the decision pro-people stated that such an initiative would prove helpful for state’s future in the long run. “Parents even in today’s world are reluctant to provide education to their daughters. Such initiatives are aimed to equip girls and make them capable of treading the path of equality in today’s society,” Alam said in a statement to KNS.
He maintained further that such decision would encourage enrolment of the girl students in the schools and would further incentivise their education. “Since the very onset this government under the able leadership of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has prioritised its efforts in uplifting the downtrodden and channelize the talent of the girl students,” said PDP’s district president.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Alam hoped that similar initiatives would be taken in times to come so that the horizons of peace, prosperity and development could be witnessed by the people who have been bearing the brunt of uncertainty since decades. (KNS)
