Poonch, Feb 20 (KNS): National Conference today raised serious concern over delay in payments under MGNREGA and compensation to border shelling victims stating that state government is putting salt on the wounds of shelling victims and has gone missing from border areas.
Provincial President of Youth NC, Ajaz Jan today toured border areas of Poonch district including Saujiyan, Gali Maidan where he held public interaction meetings with common masses of the area.
Locals while narrating their problems informed Jan that in border shelling, which lasted for few weeks in 2016, dozens of shops in Gali got reduced ninto ashes while human lives also faced harm.
“Damage report was prepared by authorities and government legislators assured that financial aid and compensation will be given for losses but till time not even a single penny has been given” victims said terming callous approach of government as pouring of salt on their wounds.
Locals also stated that delay in release of payment under MGNREGA is becoming a headache for them and authorities are not paying any concern over this.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Addressing the meeting, YNC Provincial President Ajaz Jan said came heavily on state government and alleged it for showing no concern to the border affected people.
“Government should show some humanity towards border shelling victims and should extend help to them” Jan stated asking both PDP and BJP to fulfil its commitments made with border people before polls.
He further demanded speeding up the process of clearing liabilities under MGNREGA.
