Srinagar, June 20 (KNS): Democratic Party Nationalist chairman and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir Monday said PDP-BJP government is delaying the holding of Municipal and Panchayat polls in the state for its “ulterior motives”.
Mir said that the coalition had promised to conduct local bodies and Panchayat polls on time but “forgetting its promise the alliance partners are delaying the polls for their ulterior motives”.
Mir while speaking at the executive party meeting at Shalteng lashed out at the PDP-led government for failing to deliver the governance that it had promised to the people in the state.
“Sugar crisis has gripped the state and even in the half of the holy month has passed, government failed to distribute sugar among people,” the DPN chief said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that regularization of daily wagers was promised by the government as its ‘priority’, but the “promises to the poor people are yet to be fulfilled”.
The DPN chief said that the party will be strengthened at grassroots level and a state-wide membership drive will be held from July 10.
The participants at the meeting expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of the government as “it has not delivered what it had claimed”. (KNS)
