Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): Mounting pressure on the PDP as suspense looms over government formation, the opposition Congress Wednesday said that PDP is “duty bound to give representation to people”.
“The seven day mourning has ended. Now, it is the responsibility of both the PDP and BJP, which have the mandate of the people in the state, to give government to the people,” JK Congress president G A Mir told KNS.
Mir said that PDP and BJP are “duty bound” to give representation to people.
“People have started asking questions to PDP and BJP. So, the two parties should form the government as early as possible. Governor rule and political stalemate are not appreciated by people in the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, JK Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary, Nazir Ahmad Khan in a statement to KNS, said that the PDP should form the government “in order to avoid further chaos and confusion created due to absence of the elected government, PDP should form a coalition government”.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Khan, who contested Assembly elections from Beerwah against former chief minister Omar Abdullah, seven days have passed since the tragic death of former chief minister, and further delay in government formation would not be conducive for the state like Jammu and Kashmir.
“People in the state are confronted with large number of development issues after floods of last year. Also, winter has posed many challenges before the people. Due to absence of an elected government, people are facing difficulties.” (KNS)
