Glowing tributes were paid to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on his death anniversary at a function held here this morning with senior leaders highlighting his prominent role in transforming Jammu and Kashmir as a democratic, vibrant and progressive State.
“Best tribute to Baba-e-Quom will be to uphold his cherished values by strengthening the bonds of amity and unity between various segments of the society”, Provincial Youth National Conference President, Mr Ajaz Jan said while addressing the party workers.
While throwing light on different facets of Sheikh Sahib’s life, Jan exhorted the workers to play their prominent role in seeking redressal to the problems confronted to the people. He referred to constant shelling from across the border and said the border dwellers were living miserable life with nobody from the administration visiting them so far.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said the coalition government has totally failed in meeting the situation, as a result of which the people were suffering immensely.
Jan also referred to local problems, saying power supply was totally erratic in the border belts while restoration works in the wake of damages caused to infrastructure due to floods are yet to take off. He said Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge is yet to be restored while the utility services are craving for attention.
Later, a delegation led by Jan presented a memorandum to the District Development Commissioner, listing various problems confronted to the people.
The District Development Commissioner assured the delegation that power bills will be rationalized from this month to redress the complaints of the consumers. (KNS)
