PDD lineman beaten for trying to snap power supply over outstanding tariff in Handwara

Handwara August 02 (KNS): An employee of Power department development (PDD), has been allegedly beaten by a consumer in Braropora village of Handwara in North kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday after he tries to snap supply of his home over outstanding amount of 80 thousand. 

An official told Kashmir News service (KNS), that earlier few days back they have disconnected the electricity connection of a consumer identified as Mushtaq Ah Siraj, and his son Ashu for an huge outstanding amount of 80 thousand. 

He said that today the line man deputed in the area went see, that if the consumer has not used the supply again. "On reaching spot he found that the consumer has installed the connection again, following which the concerned employee tries to disconnect again, " he said, adding that at that moment, they attacked our employee and injured him critically. 

The official said that the injured employee identified as Mohd Shafi was taken to DH hospital Handwara for treatment while a formal complaint has been filed in police station Handwara for swift action.(KNS).
