Srinagar, Aug18 (KNS): Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HOFF), J&K, S. K. Gupta, conducted an extensive tour of various Forest Divisions of North Kashmir, inspecting key projects and reviewing ongoing forestry works.
During his visit, Gupta inspected the under-construction Forest Check Post at Trumgund near Hygam in JV Forest Division, Baramulla, and directed for early completion of pending works to make the facility functional at the earliest.
He also visited the Reshwari Forest Rest House (FRH) in Mawar Range of Langate Forest Division, where he convened a review meeting with Divisional Forest Officers of the circle. The officers presented detailed reports on forestry activities in their jurisdictions.
The PCCF further assessed infrastructure projects aimed at boosting eco-tourism in the Bungus Valley. He inspected the newly constructed Bungus Visitor Centre, camping site, viewpoints, walking trails, block officer’s hut and a modern wayside amenity developed by the Forest Department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On the occasion, Gupta inaugurated and dedicated to the public a 20 km trek route connecting Badi Behak – Duddi – Lashar – Bangus. Developed in three phases, the trek covers Badi Behak to Duddi Behak (8 km), Duddi to Lashar Valley (4 km), and Lashar Valley to Bangus (8 km). The initiative is aimed at positioning Bangus as a model off-beat eco-tourism destination to attract nature lovers and adventure tourists.
Gupta was accompanied by senior officers including Irfan Rasool Wani, Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir; Irfan Ali Shah, Conservator of Forests North Kashmir; Divisional Forest Officers of Langate, Kehmil, Kamraj and Baramulla; Deputy Directors of Forest Protection Force North Kashmir; and Range Officers of the region.
