Kathua , Aug 18 (KNS) : National Conference Member of Parliament, Mian Altaf Ahmad Monday visited Kathua district to meet the families affected by the recent cloudburst and subsequent landslides that claimed atleast seven lives and left many injured.

In a statement issued, Mian Altaf Ahmad visited the cloudburst affected area and during his visit he interacted with the bereaved families, expressed profound grief over the tragic loss of lives, and conveyed his heartfelt condolences.

MP Mian Altaf urged the administration to provide proper and suitable compensation to the affected families besides expedite the process for rehabilitation of all the affected families, and other necessary assistance during this difficult time.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“ The cloudburst and landslides in Jodh Khad, Juthana, and adjoining areas have caused immense tragedy.

The loss of precious lives can not be compensated, but the government must expedite the process for providing proper compensation and necessary measures for their rehabilitation,” Mian Altaf as per the statement said.

Mian Altaf said that he will write to the Prime Minister of India for his assistance from PM relief fund.

He also urged the administration to ensure that those injured receive prompt medical care. (KNS)
