Srinagar, Jul 09 (KNS): As Jammu and Kashmir is being considered as the 10th polluted State across India, the officials in Pollution control Board (PCB) held Banks and dealers responsible for the mess in the pollution, saying that the institutions failed to cooperate with the government to control the pollution.
The officials in the PCB told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the bank and dealers are doing business at the cost of the lives of people as these institutions are only providing vehicles to people but don’t assist the government in controlling the pollution, that is on rise due to the mounting number of vehicles here.
Officials wishing anonymity said that the institutions besides providing vehicles to the people on loan should have also assisted the government in controlling the pollution but unfortunately they never bothered to look into the issue, thereby resulted in rise in pollution here.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that the banks are the main source of mounting numbers of vehicles. “There was steep increase in the number of vehicles according to the RTO officials from past couple of years, mainly assisted by the banks. Authorities in the banks must understand that the number mounting number of vehicles carry threat of rise in pollution. They should assist the PCB in this regard to control it,” they added.
The officials asked the bank authorities and dealers that what they given to the state over controlling the pollution here. (KNS)
