Srinagar, May 21 (KNS): National Conference Working Committee on Wednesday, during unanimously passed seven important resolutions concerning recent incidents and vital issues related to Jammu and Kashmir.
In its first resolution, the Committee strongly condemned the brutal Baisaran attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent people, including a young Kashmiri, Syed Adil Hussain Shah. It also expressed grief over the continuing cross-border shelling that killed 23 civilians. The Committee paid heartfelt tributes to party members and activists who passed away since the last meeting, acknowledging their valuable contributions.
The second resolution reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, describing it as essential to the region’s dignity and the aspirations of its people.
Through its third resolution, the Committee urged the Government of India to immediately restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, reminding the Centre of its commitment made on the floor of Parliament and reaffirmed by the Supreme Court’s constitution bench.
Welcoming the announcement of a ceasefire, the fourth resolution appealed to both neighboring countries to uphold peace and seek lasting, peaceful solutions to end bloodshed in the region.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The fifth resolution reiterated the party’s commitment to its manifesto promises and its resolve to continue a peaceful, democratic, and constitutional struggle for justice, peace, and the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In its sixth resolution, the Committee appreciated the overwhelming public condemnation of the Baisaran attack and acknowledged the compassion shown by locals towards stranded tourists during difficult times. It urged the Government of India to recognize this powerful gesture and avoid actions like arbitrary arrests, harassment of youth, misuse of bulldozers, and pressure on independent media, warning that such measures could alienate peace-loving citizens.
The seventh and final resolution condemned the reported harassment of Kashmiri students, traders, and residents in different parts of the country following recent events. It called upon all state governments to ,ensure the safety, dignity, and protection of people from Jammu and Kashmir residing outside the Union Territory.(KNS)
