Pandit Killing: Security guards may face action if any lapse found, says DIG South Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): Deputy Inspector General of Police south Kashmir range, Sujit Kumar, Saturday said that if any security laps was found in the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in Shopian district today, the strict action will be taken.

The DIG Sujit Kumar said while speaking to media persons. "strict action will be taken definitely if there's any security laps on part of security guards in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Poran Krishan Bhat son of Tarak Nath Bhat resident of Choudhary Gund Shopian.

He also said initial investigation has suggested that a lone militant was behind the attack while the other things are still being investigated.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya said that all assistance is being provided to the pandit family by the administration while body of the deceased will be sent to Jammu for last rites.

Notably a Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead by militants in Choudry Gund area of South Kashmir's Shopian district on Saturday afternoon.(KNS)
