Jammu, Mar 31 (KNS): All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference has hailed the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir government which has been taken after the revised gazette notification of the ministry of rural development and Panchayati Raj, government of India, regarding revision of wage rate for unskilled manual workers under MGNREGA, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
As per the revised rate it has been decided that from 01/April/2016, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir the wages for the unskilled workers under MGNREGA be appreciated as Rs. 173/ Per Day.
Anil Sharma, President All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference informed that now after the revised wage rate every unskilled MGREGA worker in Jammu and Kashmir shall get an additional Rs. 900 for 100 days job earlier it was 16,400 (for 100 days) and now from the coming financial year an unskilled MGREGA worker shall receive minimum Rs.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel173 per day. i.e (Rs 17300 for 100 days).
Sharma, while appreciating the decision of the Union government said ‘ though the appreciation of per day wage is low but AJKPC is hopeful that till next financial year it would be further enhanced and minimum 150 days guaranteed job is provided to the villagers in every financial year”. It is pertinent to mention here that All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference has many a times raised all the genuine demands of the MGNREGA workers of the state at all appropriate forums in the state and with the union government as well and it was also only after the untiring struggle and continuing pursuance of the All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference that the previous government was compelled to give monthly honorarium to 33,000 plus elected Panches and Sarpanches.
