Budgam, Aug 11(KNS): The panchs of Khansahib block of Central kashmir Budgam district Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against block officer and Sarpanchs alleges that they does not allow them to do any work in their area. 

According to Kashmir News service (KNS), the protesting panch accuses sarpanchs for taking bribe in distribution of work in the concerned halqas and said that the block development officer is not taking any action against them.

They futher said that sarpanchs are distributing contract works amongst their nears and dears."The government has made us sarpanches in name only, they do not allow us to do any work, " they added. 

"We become useless with each passing day.
We are ready to resign if the situation remains continues like this in the future, " a local panch said. He alleged that there is collusion between the administration officials and the sarpanchs. 

The protestors futher said that they were not receiving any positive response from the BDO and his officials during they visited the there which is resulting in anger among us the local people as well. 

Meanwhile, the protestors appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and redress their genuine demands earliest so that they can breathe sigh of relief. -(KNS).
