Pakistani Inmates Held in Ambala After Jammu Jailbreak

JAMMU, Feb 18 (KNS) :  In a major security breach with cross-border ramifications, two Pakistani nationals who escaped from a juvenile observation home in Jammu after allegedly opening fire on security personnel were arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) in Ambala, Haryana, officials said.

The duo, identified as Mohammad Sanula (20) and Ahsan Anwar (21)—both residents of Punjab province in Pakistan—were apprehended from the Ambala Cantt Railway Station premises while attempting to flee the country via the Nepal border.

According to officials, the escape occurred at the RS Pura District Juvenile Observation Home in Jammu, where the two were lodged—Sanula since 2019 and Anwar since 2021. They fled along with an Indian accomplice, Karamjeet alias Guga, who is believed to be the "mastermind" behind the plot.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"Their plan was to help the two Pakistani nationals escape to Nepal via the Uttar Pradesh border," said Vikrant Bhushan, SP STF Ambala, while confirming that both foreign nationals have been handed over to the Jammu and Kashmir Police for further investigation.

The incident has raised serious questions about security protocols in sensitive border districts of Jammu, especially in facilities housing foreign nationals. Authorities are now investigating whether the escape was part of a larger conspiracy with possible links to cross-border elements.

Jammu Police have taken custody of the accused and will seek their remand for further interrogation. (KNS)
