Pakistan "disconsolate" over huge tourist footfall in J&K: LG Manoj Sinha

Srinagar, October 30 (KNS): While hitting hard to neighbouring country, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said "Pakistan is disconsolate over huge tourist footfall in J&K, and it is why it's pawns are leaving no stone unturned to destabilise the pace of development in the region".

The LG Sinha said the Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed major changes from past few years that led to the massive development in the UT, but few subversive elements and their handlers and are yet to digest the changes.

"The neighbouring country Pakistan and their pawns are yet to digest changes happening in J&K. Pakistan is absolute disconsolate over huge influx of tourists that led economical boost in the UT", the LG Sinha said while addressing a function held here in SKICC.

He said the militants and their handlers are at "deathbed" after police and security forces dismantled their ecosystem. They are still trying to snatch lives of innocents including laborers. They want to sabotage the pace of development the UT is witnessing from past few years", the LG said.

The LG Sinha added the Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing gigantic changes due to which youth have reposed their faith on the mainstream. He said the J&K has lost numerous lives in past due to turmoil carried out by militants and their handlers sitting across.

"In turbulent times only poor families lost their sons. Neither a politician nor a rich  man's son lost his life. They enjoyed their lives abroad and got higher education. Only poor people suffered the dent of the uncertain situation. Now youth have reposed their faith in the mainstream that led the pace of development to the new heights", he said.

While appealing to common masses to come forward and help police and administration in nation building, the LG Sinha said "Vikas (development) is not possible in absence of peace",  and added "Only security forces and administration cannot maintain peace, people as well must come forward and work shoulder to shoulder in nation building", he said.(KNS)
