2 JeM Militant associates arrested Pulwama, say police

Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNS) : A pakistani infiltrator was killed and two others Jash-e-Mohammad outfit militants associates arrested in two separate anti-militancy operations in Kashmir. 
 
About infiltration, the army said that based on specific input of JKP and further corroborated by other intelligence agencies, a Joint ops was launched in general area of Jumagund, Kupwara by Indian Army and JKP. "At approx 10.25 AM today, taking advantage of bad weather and visibility conditions, a terrorist was seen trying to infiltrate onto own side of Line of Control," it said. 

It also said that the alert troops kept terrorist under strict surveillance. "When the terrorist reached closer to the ambush party, he was challenged. Sensing danger, the terrorist fired on the party and tried to flee. The terrorist was however neutralized after effective fire was brought down on him. Search of the area resulted in recovery of an AK series rifle and other war like stores," the army said. 

Meanwhile the ammu and Kashmir Police on claimed to have arrested two Jash-e-Mohammad outfit militants associates in Pulwama district of southern Kashmir. The police said that alongwith Army (55RR) & CRPF (182Bn) arrested two militant associates of proscribed militant outfit JeM. "They have been identified as Adnan Shafi Bhat son of Mohd Shafi Bhat resident of Ashmander and Yawar Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Karimabad," it said. 

"Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 01 Pistol along with 01 magazine and 12 rounds were recovered from their possession. During investigation 02 grenades were also recovered upon their disclosure. The arrested duo was working as associates of militant outfit JeM and was tasked to carry out attacks on Non local labourers in the area," it said, adding that accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 312/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been initiated.(KNS).
