Srinagar, Apr 22 (KNS): On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and extended solidarity with the bereaved families, stating that they “continue to bear the pain of this tragedy, and unfortunately always will.”

In a post on X, Mirwaiz Umar said these dates on the calendar “reopen our wounds” from similar tragedies witnessed over the last three decades in parts of Kashmir — including Gaw Kadal, Zakoora, Hawal, Sopore, Wandhama and Chittisinghpura.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“Thousands of precious human lives lost to the conflict,” he said, adding that despite the suffering, the faith and aspiration of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in non-violence and lasting peace with dignity through talks “remains unwavering.”

“We hope and pray that such gruesome events are forever a thing of the past. Ameen,” Mirwaiz added. (KNS)
