Anantnag, Feb 11 (KNS): The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration Thursday emerged as winner during the district development council chairperson election for Anantnag district. 

Sources told news agency KNS that PAGD bagged both chairperson and vice-chairperson seats of DDC Anantnag during the election meeting today.

They said that Muhammad Yousuf Gorsi of NC was elected as chairperson while Sheikh Javaid of PDP was elected vice-chairperson of DDC Anantnag.

Earlier, a meeting of all the newly elected DDC members of Anantnag was called by the district election officer to elect chairperson and vice-chairperson for the district. (KNS)
