Over 2,000 students take out anti-terror marches in Karnah, condemn Pahalgam attack

Srinagar, April 22 (KNS): More than 2,000 students from government and private schools across the Karnah sub-division took out anti-terror solidarity marches on Wednesday, condemning the Pahalgam terror attack and commemorating the anniversary of Operation Sindoor.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the marches were held at AGS Hajinar, GDC Kandi, and AGS Tithwal, where students raised slogans against terrorism and expressed support for the armed forces and the families of the victims.

"Our youth stand firmly with the nation. They reject violence and believe in a peaceful, progressive Jammu and Kashmir," an official said.

The Pahalgam attack, which targeted tourists last year, had sent shockwaves across the region. Officials said the peaceful marches reflected growing public resolve against terrorism, especially among the younger generation.

The anniversary of Operation Sindoor—a military offensive against infiltration—was also marked by the students as a tribute to the valour of the armed forces.

"Such events inspire confidence and hope. The youth of Karnah have sent a clear message — Kashmir stands with India against terror," a senior defence officer said.

The demonstrations were among the largest student-led solidarity events in the border sub-division in recent months. (KNS)
