Srinagar, Jan 21 (KNS): All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee has impressed upon the political parties of the state to step up and take concrete measures for forming the next government as early as possible since people are suffering on this account.
In a statement to KNS, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that people voted with enthusiasm in 2014 assembly elections so that their daily problems are solved by people at helm. He said since there is no government in the state at present people don’t know as whom to contact for in case of any need.
“Onus lies on Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for forming the government in the state since they were in power with Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed being the chief minister of the state. The two parties without any further delay should come together and form the next government in the state,” said Raina.
The APSCC said although both PDP and BJP talk of realizing dreams and aspirations of the former chief minister none among them has so far taken concrete action for government formation in Jammu & Kashmir. He said the chaos and confusion that is prevalent in the state can come to end only when a popular government is in place in the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“PDP President Mehbooba Mufti should understand that she has to carry forward the legacy left behind by her father and former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. She cannot wish away her responsibilities and as such should take a call at the earliest with regard to government formation in the state,” said Raina.
The APSCC Chairman while recalling the contribution of former chief minister said that Mufti Sayeed was a man of conviction and had a vision to mitigate sufferings of the common masses. He said in former CM’s death the state has lost a statesman who would do everything to ensure that people live their lives in peace and tranquility.
Raina said that the new government should look into the issues confronting the minority communities in the state. He said the people at helm should take effective measures for grant minority status to the Sikh community in Jammu & Kashmir. He said this would be in tune with the provisions of National Minority Act. (KNS)
