Says BJP-PDP Govt pushed youth to wall, addresses YNC convention at Anantnag

Srinagar, Jan 05 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference on Saturday said that the former BJP-PDP government had declared war against the youth and that only Omar Abdullah can bring respite to strife torn state.
Addressing a well attended YNC convention at Dak Bungalow Anantnag, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar said that the need of hour is to harness the energy, creativity and intellect of youth to give state a more meaningful future. “Former BJP-PDP dispensation belittled the aspirations of youth. Due to their ill conceived policies, valley youth is in the forefront of violent distress. Never has Kashmir witnessed such manifest nepotism as was widespread during the last four years,” he said adding, “Ever since Mehbooba Mufti took over the reins of power in the state the plight of youth knows no end. The unjust and imprudent policies of the PDP led government disenchanted the youth towards democratic processes and even pushed highly qualified youth towards destruction.”
Salman said that only Omar Abdullah can provide safe spaces for youth where in they can achieve their goals and strive for excellence. “Youth are effective agents of change. Enthusiastic, creative, they can contribute to the development by addressing society’s most challenging issues such as combating poverty and unemployment. However it requires investment in youth,” he said adding that National Conference believes that governments and societies which invest in the youth reap the benefits through greater growth and social well being for generations to come.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the State is gifted with hardworking and meritorious youth but the imprudent policies of BJP-PDP pushed them to the wall. “The open political patronage, nepotism, chaos in competitive exams and service commissions has made our worthy youth cynical about their future,” he said.
YNC provincial president asserted that Mehbooba Mufti’s biggest failure has been the massive jump in the number of local youth joining militancy. “The need of the hour is to reconcile with the enraged youth and help them realize their dreams and above all to dream first, because all success stories have a dream at the back of them,” he said impressing on the youth delegates, and functionaries, “We have to take a lead in highlighting the issues faced by today’s youth. It is only National Conference which has the capacity and the sincerity to rescue the disenchanted youth from morass to opulence.”
Among others Provincial joint Secretary YNC Kashmir Mohammad Irfan Zehgeer, YNC district president Anantnag Advocate Peerzada Musharraf, YNC Provincial Coordinator Abid Wani, YNC South Zone Secretary Ishtiyaq Ahmad and Syed Sabha along with other office bearers were also present on the occasion.
