Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNS): As the authorities in the Beacon department has ‘failed to clear snow’ on the roads, the Tangdarh-Kupwara road remained closed from past one week thereby resulted in the severe hardships to the inhabitants there.
According to the KNS correspondent, the Tangdarh-Kupwara road is closed from past one week due to the heavy snowfall in the district. “The authorities are taking no measures to clear the accumulated snow on the roads, which resulted in immense hardships to the people residing here,” inhabitants told KNS.
They alleged that Beacon 109 BRO has failed to clear snow. “The machines of the department are lying defunct which led to the non-clearance of snow on the roads. No snow clearance has resulted to the closure of Tangdarh-Kupwara road from past one week,” they added.
They later appealed to the higher ups of the Beacon department to take necessary measures in this regard and redress the genuine grievances of people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, according to the KNS correspondent, the interior roads in Tangdarh areas including Shamaspora, Pathangali, Gumul, Hadinar are also blocked due to the heaps of snow accumulated on the roads. ‘The authorities have even failed to clear the snow on the interior roads of the areas,” the residents alleged.
According to KNS correspondent, due to the heavy snowfall from past several days, various houses got damaged in the district.
In Loc area, the house of Yasar Ahmad, son of Ghulam Haider got damaged due to landslide in the area.
Another house of Muhammad Shafi Badana, son of Mangta Badana got damaged due to the heavy snowfall in the area while at Natiya area in the Tehsil, a house of Javaid Ahmad Badana got damaged due to heavy snowfall. (KNS)
