Srinagar, Jul 26 (KNS): Government Degree College (GDC) Pattan is without Principal for last one month, which has adversely affected the academic as well as hampering the smooth functioning of the college administration.
Sources informed KNS that GDC Pattan is functioning without a principal since the past one month after the government accepted the voluntary retirement of former Principal, Prof Wali Mohammad. “Former principal of the college had applied for voluntary retirement, which was accepted by the government and since then no replacement has been sent,” sources said.
Prof Wali Mohammad was later appointed as Professor in Central University Awantipora.
Officials said that all the routine administrative works of the college have come to a standstill owing to the absence of the college principal.
They said that nobody has given powers to act as the Principal there, which has affected the academic as well as hampering the smooth functioning of the college administration.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, a group of students said that their academics have got badly affected owing to the absence of the college principal.
“We are facing a lot of problems due to the absence of the Principal here but unfortunately nobody is paying heed o our sufferings. We appeal to the government to appoint a new college principal so that the college functions smoothly and the students could feel a sigh of relief,” the students said.
The college administration including the students of Degree College Pattan appealed Education Minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari to look into the matter and provide Principal at earliest.
The staff also said that their salary is still withheld since the college is headless. (KNS)
