Bandipora, July 5 (KNS): A one-day workers’ convention of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party was held today at the Town Hall Bandipora.

Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari addressed the gathering and urged workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. He emphasised the need for organisational outreach and encouraged supporters to connect with people on the ground.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the convention, Bukhari said that July 13 holds historical importance in the region as it commemorates the sacrifice of those who laid down their lives in 1931. He said the day marks the beginning of a democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir and should be declared a public holiday.

He also called on the government to lift restrictions on tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Commenting on the National Conference, Bukhari said the party has not fulfilled the promises made in its election manifesto. He said that despite eight months having passed since the formation of the administration, no significant development work has been started. He urged the government to deliver on its commitments.

Several workers from different political backgrounds joined the Apni Party on the occasion. Bukhari welcomed the new members and said their joining reflects growing support for the party’s agenda. He reiterated the party’s focus on rights, development, and political representation for the people. (KNS)
